I'm Lauren - a freelance photographer based in Reading covering Berkshire and London although I'm happy to travel to the rest of the U.K and beyond.
I remember having a fascination for cameras since I was little, lining up my toys on the pavement and photographing them, then becoming the one to hold the camera on family outings as I got older.
After encorporating photography into my art and graphics work at GCSE, I studied it as an A level and went on to get my BA Hons degree. After working as in an Inhouse Photographer for a hotel booking agency and writing for their magazine I took the plunge into the world of freelance.
My free time is filled with gigs, festivals, several kinds of dancing, performing, aerial hoop, climbing, bouldering, stilt walking and spending time with my friends and family - I'm the eldest of four and we enjoy watching movies, cycling, board games and inventing our own ridiculous games. Having lived by the river for most of my life and having Cornish in my blood I really like to be near water so I'm also into bodyboarding, surfing and kayaking.
Although my comissioned work is digital based I love 35mm photography and have been known to spend 11 hours at a time in the darkroom. To me there's something magical about it! I currently run after school darkroom workshops for secondary school pupils and have also gained some experience teaching to both primary and secondary school students within school hours.
Fine art photography is the foundation of my passion so there are hints of it in my commissioned work mixed in with a candid/documentary style. If you like what you see and want to hire me, collaborate or receive lessons then you can contact me using the link below.
